The entrance of Decorex 2016, is to be constructed by Furniture Designer Tim Gosling. In keeping with this year’s theme of ‘the roots of design’, Tim will be creating ‘The Heritage of British Chair Making’. This links the exceptional heritage of British craftsmanship with interior design and architecture. As well as working with collections from the Victoria & Albert Museum and The Frederick Parker collection, nine leading British visual creators will be asked to choose their favourite piece and why it speaks to them.
Tim explains: “The UK has some of the most important furniture collections in the world, but due to conservation it is not always possible to put them on public display. Thanks to the support of the V&A and The Frederick Parker Collection, I am delighted to be curating an exhibition of chairs, which includes many of these rare and extraordinary pieces.”
