We were lucky enough to be asked to work on the important architectural site of Farnham Castle. As Hampshire interior designers, it was a pleasure to work on such a local site, and we visit frequently to ensure all is going well. These before and after images show the Great Hall at Farnham Castle, and just shows how a space can be changed with the right kind of lighting design and specialist colour consultant.
The lighting design discreetly focused on the main features of the space, highlighting the 10 metre high coffered ceilings. The beautiful stained glass windows were an inspiration for the warm tones used to decorate the walls. We worked with a specialist artist to define the wall into sections of graduated colour. The base wall beneath the dado is painted in Farrow & Ball Dorset Cream, whilst the mid section is painted in Farrow’s Cream. The upper section is painted in Farrow & Ball’s White Tie, and the dado and balustrade are highlighted in Farrow & Ball’s All White.
We have more plans to add gilding and tromp l’oeil motifs on the coffered ceiling, so do watch this space for further updates. For further images, see http://www.icon-interiors.co.uk/portfolio/commercial/farnham-castle/
